Frequently Asked Questions
Call (860) 750-5050 for a free in-home consultation.
Where do you work?
We're based in West Hartford and serve all of Hartford County, including Glastonbury, Farmington, Avon and Simsbury.
What services do you offer?
Shower updates, tub-to-shower conversions, shower-to-tub conversions, tub replacement, accessible walk-in showers and full bathroom remodels.
How much does a remodel cost?
It depends on the size of the space, the finishes you choose and whether plumbing needs to move. We give you one fixed price at a free in-home consultation. See what affects the cost.
How long does it take?
Most shower updates and tub-to-shower conversions take one to two days. Full remodels take longer, and we give you the schedule before we start.
How long is the consultation?
Usually 60 to 90 minutes. We measure, show you samples, help you pick your design and give you a price on the spot.
When can you come out for a consultation?
In-home consultations are Tuesday through Friday at 10am, 2pm or 6pm, and Saturday at 10am or 2pm. Call (860) 750-5050 Monday through Saturday, 9am to 9pm, or use the form below and we'll call you to pick a time.
Do you use tile?
No. We install waterproof, grout-free full-wall panels, made in the USA with a lifetime limited warranty. They come in marble, stone and solid finishes, and there's no grout to scrub or reseal. Panels vs. tile.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. HUGH'S is a registered Connecticut home improvement contractor, CT HIC.0707296, and we're fully insured. You can verify any contractor's registration on the state's eLicense lookup.
What warranty do you offer?
Our installation is backed by our limited lifetime warranty for as long as you own your home, and our wall panels are made in the USA and carry the manufacturer's lifetime limited warranty. See warranty details.
Can I stay home during the work?
Yes. If you have another bathroom, most people barely notice we're there. If it's your only bathroom, ask us about timing at your consultation.
Do you offer financing?
Ask about current financing options at your consultation.
Can you help veterans with VA grants?
Yes. Veterans with a service-connected disability may qualify for VA grants toward an accessible bathroom. HUGH'S is not part of the VA. Learn more.
How do I clean my new shower?
